    Thomas (Tom) E. Wand 78, of Edina, Missouri passed away Thursday, February 24, 2011 after a battle with cancer.

    He was born January 19, 1933, in Quincy, Illinois, the only son of Osmer “Doc” Joseph Wand and Ruth Ellen Liggett Wand.

    Tom attended Berrian Elementary School and Kemper Military School and was a 1950 graduate of Quincy High School. In 1960 he graduated from St. Louis College of Pharmacy. He served four years active duty in the United States Air Force and four years of reserve service.

    He owned and operated his fathers drug store, Walton Pharmacy at 24th at Chestnut in Quincy for twelve years. Tom was a pharmacist at The P&S Clinic in Quincy before relocating to Edina, Missouri in 1991 where he owned and operated

McKay Drug until 2003. After retirement he continued doing pharmacy relief work in the area until 2008. He obtained a Pharmaceutical License in three states and received recognition from the Missouri Board of Pharmacy for fifty years of pharmacy service.

    He was a member of Quincy Boat Club, St. Johns Anglican Church in Quincy, the Knox County VFW Post #4822, Knox City American Legion Post #358, the Knox County Economic Development, and the Edina Masonic Lodge.

    He is survived by his wife; Patsy Miller Wand of Edina. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 7, 2010.

    His three children; daughter Ellen Sabin of Dallas, Texas and husband Steve; son Tom Wand of Grand Prairie, Texas and wife Karen and son Tim Wand of Chicago, Illinois and his wife Linda. He is also survived by three Grandsons; Nicholas Sabin, 20, currently a student in Vancouver, Canada, Jacob Sabin 16 of Dallas, Texas and Mitchell Wand 8 of Grand Prairie, Texas; as well as neighbors and friends.

    Tom was a entrepreneur with a wide variety of interests during his life including; antique radios, fishing, reading, collecting movies, planting trees and gardening. He had an interest in vintage cars and owned a number of antiques that he enjoyed driving in local parades including the Cornfest.

    Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 28, 2011 at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.

    Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at the funeral home.

    Burial will be in the Linville Cemetery in Edina, Missouri.

    Bishop Steven Strawn will officiate and music will be provided by Carol Hayes, Jim and Kyle Clark. Casket Bearers will be Kevin Strange, Mike Kinsel, Billy Hunter, Douglas Petty, John Bode, Dr. Robert Collinge and. Honorary Bearers will be Lori Strange, Mary Bishop, John Haddick, Pattricia Bode and Evelyn Ewalt.
