Randal Trent Gaines, 51, of Novelty, Missouri, passed away Friday, November 23, 2012, at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
Trent was born on April 29, 1961, the son of Waldo Graydon and Edra Janice McGlothlin Gaines.
He attended the Novelty Elementary and graduated from the Knox County High School in the Class of 1979.
On June 23, 1984, in Kirksville, Missouri, Trent married Trudy Irene Pickett and to this union two children were born.
Trent worked a number of years at Standard Register as a press operator, worked on the line at Adair Foods both of Kirksville, Missouri, and most recently was employed at Cardwell Lumber near Novelty, Missouri.
He was a member of the Locust Hill Community Church, of Locust Hill, Missouri, and had been a member of the Edina Masonic Lodge, Columbia Valley Scottish Rite, Moila Shrine Temple of St. Joseph, Missouri, the El Kadir Shrine Club of Kirksville, Missouri, where he served as past president, and the Baring Country Club. Trent enjoyed life, spending time with family, especially his granddaughter, Lucy, and his friends.
Trent is survived by a son, Graydon and his wife Ashley Gaines of Shelbina, Missouri; a daughter, Danielle and her husband John Sanders of Kirksville, Missouri; a granddaughter, Lucy Gene Sanders; his mother and step-father, Edra and her husband Weldon Beach of Leonard, Missouri; twin brother, Roland Brent and his wife Kim Gaines of Shelbyville, Missouri; sister, Walla and her husband Eric DeRosear of Kahoka, Missouri and Lora and her husband Bobby Pfanner of Monroe City, Missouri; a niece, Katie Simmons of Monroe City, Missouri; a nephew, Scott and his wife
La’Costa Gaines and their sons, Jagger and Daxon of Shelbyville, Missouri; along with numerous cousins and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Waldo Gaines on September 22, 1991 and a nephew, Joel DeRosear on August 28, 2007.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 26, 2012, at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.
Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2012, with the family receiving friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Leonard Cemetery in Leonard, Missouri.
Pastor Tresia Griffith will officiate and Casket Bearers will be Byron Harder, Loren Harder, Mike Stauffer, John Morton, Bret Johnson and Gary Kaser.
