    Bobby Carlyle Glasgow, 89, of Edina, Missouri, passed away Friday, June 5, 2015, at the Knox County Nursing Home in Edina, Missouri.

    Bobby was born on January 17, 1926, near Rutledge, Missouri, the son of Carl and Hallie Rector Glasgow.

    He attended rural school near Rutledge, Missouri, before serving his country during World War II, in the United States Army.

    In 1947 Bobby married Myrtle Virginia Knauer and to this union three children were born. Virginia preceded him in death on July 4, 1976.

    After returning home from his military service, Bobby worked building the Canal near Rutledge, then farmed with his parents, while starting his family. In 1961 he purchased Glasgow Implement, near Edina, Missouri, and serviced and sold tractors until he sold in 1978. Bobby continued to farm and began restoring antique tractors and had accumulated 60 tractors over the years.

    On April 5, 1977, Bobby married Evelyn Jewlene Ingold Fox, in Kirksville, Missouri and they celebrated more than 38 years together.

    He was a life member of the First Christian Church in Edina, Missouri, the Cyril A. Graham American Legion Post in Edina, Missouri, where he was a life member and celebrated 6o years and the Darrell Knauer Plevna American Legion Post.

    Bobby loved his family, tractors, farming, music and enjoyed helping others, especially children.

    He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Glasgow of Edina, Missouri; a son, Jim and his wife Betsy Glasgow of Edina, Missouri; a daughter, Kathleen Louise and her husband Terry Smith of De Soto, Missouri; a step-daughter, Dixie Lee Stribling of Kirksville, Missouri; six grandchildren, Mark and Kesi Glasgow, Julie and John George, T.J. Smith, Amanda Smith, Brian and Leslie Glasgow, and Cheryl and Ty Locke; five great grandchildren, Andy George, Alex George, Cody Glasgow, Seth Locke and Schyler Locke; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and fellow tractor enthusiasts.

    Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Hallie Glasgow; his wife Virginia Glasgow; a son, William Darrell “Bill” Glasgow; and a brother, Stanley Glasgow.

    Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.

    Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m., on Monday, June 8, 2015, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Military graveside honors will be in the Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville, Missouri, by Knox County American Legion and VFW Posts.

    Pastor DeWayne Wellborn will officiate and Brother Bob Leckbee will assist. Music will be provided by Rita Worthington and Brent Karhoff. Casket Bearers will be Lynn Douglas, Red Calahan, Kenny Cooper, Keith Spory, Billy Mallett and Nat Harder. Honorary Bearers will be Mark Glasgow, Julie George, T.J. Smith, Amanda Smith, Brian Glasgow, Cody Glasgow, Alex George, Andy George, Mike Morford and Don Collop.

    An expression of sympathy in memory of Bobby Glasgow may be left to the Knox County Nursing Home. A memorial may be left at or mailed to the Doss Funeral Home 208 N. 4th Street, Edina, Missouri 63537.
