Ronald Rupert


    Ronald Lee Rupert, age 68, of Emden, MO, entered into peaceful rest on March 21, 2015 in his home.

    Ron was born December 23, 1946, son of Ernest Lee (Bud) Rupert and Pearl (Betty) Rains in Quincy, IL.

    Ron was joined in marriage to Kathy Ethridge Lunsford on August 2, 1974 in Muscatine, Iowa.

    Ron was preceded in death by his mother Betty, daughter Tracy Rupert Brumbaugh, grandson Justice Rupert, among other loved ones.

    Ron is survived by his wife Kathy and four sons; Scott Lunsford, wife Jill, of Shelbyville, MO, Todd Rupert, wife Michelle, of Hannibal, MO, Paul Rupert, wife April, of Quincy, IL, and David Rupert, wife Serena, of Shelbyville, MO. Also surviving are two brothers, Michael Rupert, wife Diane, and James Rupert both of Quincy, IL. Ron is also survived by his father Bud, sixteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one soon to be great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.

    Ron served in the US Army from 1965 to 1968, private first class and during the Vietnam War. Ron worked at Cerro Copper for 15 years before an injury forced him into retirement. Ron was a very loving and caring man. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, and working on the family farm. Although he had many trials in his life, Ron was a strong believer in the Lord and was a deacon at Lakewood Union Chapel. Ron was most happiest when he was surrounded by his wife, children, and all of his grandchildren, and other family and friends.

    Memorial services will be held Saturday March 28, 2015 at 1pm at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, MO.

    Visitation will be held from 12pm to 1pm at the Funeral Home.
