Jay Tee Doss, 67, of LaBelle, Missouri formerly of Baring, Missouri, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2014, at the LaBelle Manor Care Center in LaBelle, Missouri.
Jay Tee was born on January 6, 1947, in Edina, Missouri, the son of Harvey Virgil and Doris Geraldine Eyler Doss.
He attended Baring Elementary and graduated from the Knox County High School in the Class of 1965.
After high school he farmed with his father and drove a milk truck before purchasing his own truck in 1969. He continued to farm and drive a truck over the years as an independent and later driving for Gulley Trucking.
He was a member of the Baring Community Church and had spent most of his life in the Baring Community. Jay Tee enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, football, baseball and trips to the casino.
On February 22, 1969, in Edina, Missouri he married Sharon Anne Burditt and to this union three children were born. Sharon preceded him on February 22, 1998.
On July 4, 2006, in Knox City, Missouri, he married Norma Lou Strange Fletcher and she preceded him on February 26, 2011.
Jay Tee is survived by his daughter, Kerry Doss of Belton, Missouri; a son, Scott and his wife Staci Doss of Raymore, Missouri; his mother, Doris Doss of Baring, Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Stephanie Keim of Canton, Missouri; eight brothers and sisters, Shirley and Leroy Rohs of Independence, Missouri, Virgil and Kathy Doss of Baring, Missouri, David and Mary Ann Doss of Clifton Hill, Missouri, Jo Ellen Doss of Baring, Missouri, Gary and Mary Jo Doss of Dallas City, Illinios, Roger and Pam Doss of Grandview, Missouri, Marietta “Kay” and Patrick “Bud” Jones of Edwardsville, Kansas and Wendell and Jan Doss of Baring, Missouri; three grandchildren, Riley, Jordan and Adam; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Jay Tee was preceded in death by his wives, Sharon and Norma; a son, Christopher Adam Doss on August 11, 1997; and his father Harvey Doss on November 7, 1993.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, November 30, 2014, at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.
Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 2014, with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.
Burial will be in the St. Aloysius Cemetery in Baring, Missouri.
Pastor Mike Wilson will officiate and Casket Bearers will be Eric Doss, Tyler Doss, Raymond Doss, Brian Doss, Kelly Rohs and Tommy Harsell. Honorary Bearers will be Riley, Jordan and Adam.
