    Donna Beth Halliday, 85, of Los Altos, California, passed away Friday evening, September 26, 2014, at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri, while visiting her son.

    She was born on January 25, 1929, in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Schuyler Everett and Maude Bedigrew Clark.

    Donna grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and graduated from Southeast High School, in the Class of 1947, and attained her nursing degree from the University of Kansas, in Lawrence, Kansas.

    On November 2, 1952, in Lawrence, Kansas she married Glen Gordon Halliday and to this union five children were born.

    Donna and her husband lived a few years in the Kansas City Area before moving to Los Altos, California in 1960. She worked for various healthcare facilities and schools as a nurse, throughout her life.

    Donna enjoyed playing tennis and traveling, especially to the coast of California. She was an accomplished artist but only shared that skill with family and friends. She also enjoyed music and played the cello and piano, but most of all she loved her Starbucks coffee every day.

    She is survived by her children, John and his wife Linda Halliday of Benicia, California, Richard Halliday of Myrtle Creek, Oregon, Beth Delanda of Livermore, California, Dr. Chris Halliday of Kirksville, Missouri and Dr. Tom and his wife Dr. Sep Halliday of Los Altos, California; four grandchildren, Rachel Halliday, Clayton Halliday, Paul Delanda and Ally Halliday; a great granddaughter, Scout Grunseth; a sister-in-law, Pat Clark of Titusville, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    Donna was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gordon Halliday, her brother Duane Clark and her twin sister Doris and her husband James Garrison.

    The family will have a celebration of her life in Los Altos, California at a later date.

    An expression of sympathy in memory of Donna Halliday may be left to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. A memorial may be left at or mailed to the Doss Funeral Home 208 N. 4th Street, Edina, Missouri 63537.
