Lathen Mikel Hartley Yoakum, 18 month old, of Edina, Missouri, passed away Monday, July 7, 2014, at the Northeast Regional Hospital in Kirksville, Missouri.
Lathen was born on December 15, 2012, in Kirksville, Missouri, the son of Katie Yoakum.
Lathen enjoyed Mickey Mouse, toy planes and his stuffed animals. He liked playing outside, riding bicycle with PaPa, riding in the semi with Chris, riding the lawnmower with grandpa Phil, he loved music and playing with Katie’s pots and pans.
Lathen is survived by his mother, Katie Yoakum and Chris Carr of Edina, Missouri; a step sister, Angel Carr of Edina, Missouri; a step brother, Micah Carr of Baring, Missouri; grandparents, Linda and Darcy Shoop of Novelty, Missouri and Carla and Phil Lockwood of Baring, Missouri; great grandparents, Eugene and Rita Yoakum of Hurdland, Missouri and Norma Perkins of Kirksville, Missouri; aunts and uncles, Amy Yoakum and her children, Carissa, Haven and Roy of Edina, Missouri, Lonnie and Gina Golden and their daughter, Tora, of Novelty, Missouri, Cayla Lockwood of Milan, Missouri and Carl Lockwood of LaGrange, Missouri; along with extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Kevin Yoakum; and great grandpa, Ralph Perkins.
A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014, at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.
Lathen’s family will receive friends on Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
