Don Lynn


 

    Don Lynn Swann of Gerald, Missouri passed away on Friday, May 20, 2011 at the Missouri Veterans home at St. James, Missouri at the age of 66 years.

    Mr. Swann was born at Novelty, Missouri on February 19, 1945 to Charles and Inez Swann. He honorably served his country, stationed in Germany with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. On February 16, 1974 he was united in marriage to Patricia Kopman at New Haven, Missouri and to this union three children were born. Don was employed for a time as a carpenter in the building trades and later with the State of Missouri in the Division of Unemployment as a case worker. He was a member of the American Legion Post 366 of New Haven and Trinity Lutheran Church of New Haven.

    He is survived by his wife Patricia of Gerald, Missouri; two sons, Aaron Swann and wife Clare of New Haven, Missouri and Cory Swann of New Haven; one daughter, Elisha Hoerstkamp and husband Jeffery of New Haven, Missouri; 5 grandchildren, Natalie, Lauren, Megan, Adam and Alton; three brothers, Tom Swann of Quincy, Illinois, Dr. James Swann of Kansas City, Missouri, and Kenneth Swann of Hannibal, Missouri; three sisters, Evelyn Doss of Edina, Missouri, Pat Swann of Dallas, Texas, and Karen Miller of Knox City, Missouri; other relatives and friends.

    Along with his parents, Don was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Dale and Jerry Lee Swann.

    Funeral services were conducted at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in New Haven, Missouri with the Rev. Herman Otten officiating. Interment was in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery.

    The family suggests memorials to the Missouri Veterans Home, St. James Missouri. Funeral arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri.
