    Jerome Brubaker Horst, 28, of Arbela, Missouri, passed away Monday, June 24, 2013, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa, from injuries at his work in Cantril, Iowa.

    Jerome was born on July 19, 1984, near Brashear, Missouri, the son of Edwin E. and Ruth H. Horst.

    On August 18, 2007, near Memphis, Missouri, he married Betsy Louise Hoover.

    They were members of the North View Mennonite Church north of Arbela, Missouri and he worked at the Cantril Feed and Grain in Cantril, Iowa.

    Jerome is survived by his wife, Betsy Horst of Arbela, Missouri; three children, Rosalie Danae, Javan Ryan and Ardell Shane Horst all of the home; his parents, Edwin and Ruth Horst of Memphis, Missouri; four brothers, Daniel and Jolene Horst of Downing, Missouri, Stephen and Naomi Horst of Memphis, Missouri, Edwin Ray Horst and Lawrence Horst both of home in Memphis, Missouri; four sisters, Sarah and Aaron Horst of Memphis, Missouri, Judith and Andrew Hoover of Downing, Missouri, Laura and Norman Zimmerman of Arbela, Missouri and Rose and Wesley Martin of Memphis, Missouri; numerous in-laws including his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carl and Lydia Hoover of Gorin, Missouri; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

    Funeral services will be Friday, June 28, 2013, at 9:30 a.m. at the North View Mennonite Church north of Arbela, Missouri.

    Visitation will be Thursday, June 27, 2013, with the family receiving friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Hillcrest Mennonite Community Center south of Memphis, Missouri.

    Burial will be in the North View Mennonite Cemetery north of Arbela, Missouri.

    Officiating will be Abner Oberholtzer, Luke Fox, Nelson Martin, and Charles Zimmerman.

        The family requests no flowers, only your presence and prayers.

    The Doss Funeral Home, of Edina, Missouri, is in charge of arrangements.
