David Lee Hettinger 69 of Sherburn, Minnesota passed away Dec 27, 2017, in Fairmont, Minnesota. 

    He was born Sept 14, 1948, in Edina, Missouri, the son of Ray William and Dorthy Nell Stone Hettinger. 

    He attended the Edina Grade School and Edina High School and graduated from Knox County R1 High School in the Class of 1966. 

    David served his country in the United States Army, enlisting in 1966 and serving in Ft. Riley, Kansas and Germany. 

    He was united in marriage to Paulette Regannon in Kirksville, Missouri. 

    David was a life-long truck driver and loved his time on the roads seeing the United States. He loved anything with Eagles on it and collected eagle statues and paintings. 

    David is survived by a son, Christopher Lee Hettinger of Hayes, Kansas, step-sons, Allen Jacobson, of Hawaii and David Allen Jacobson of Colby, Kansas. Grand children Skylar Moon Hettinger and Kane Lee Hettinger both of Hays, Kansas; a sister, Marsha Rae and her husband Philip Ordonio Jr. of Greentop, Missouri; a niece, Katrina Ordonio and her husband David Hill Kirksville, Missouri; a nephew, Philip Ordonio III and his wife Ellen of Edina, Missouri; an aunt and uncle, Cletus and Laverna Stone of Marion, Iowa; along with several great nieces, cousins, and friends. 

    He is preceded in death by his Father, Ray William Hettinger in 2003, his mother, Dorthy Nell Hettinger in 2007 and a brother, James Hettinger who died in infancy. 

    A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri. 

    The family will greet friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
