    Mildred Lucille Beck, 96, of Moberly, Missouri, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2010, at the Moberly Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Moberly, Missouri.

    Mildred was born on January 3, 1914 in Adrian, Missouri, the daughter of Ed and Gladys Kelly Lacy.

    On June 8, 1939, in Butler, Missouri, Mildred married John T. Beck.

    As a young girl, Mildred was converted and baptized into the Burdett Baptist Church, where she remained a member until she married and moved to rural Novelty, Missouri. She then moved her membership to the Hedge City Baptist Church.

    Mildred and John were engaged in farming near Hedge City, Missouri for many years before moving to Moberly, Missouri in 1965. They owned and operated “Beck’s Mobile Home Park” that included sales and transporting. At that time, Mildred moved her membership to the the Sweet Spring Baptist Church south of Huntsville, Missouri. In 1990 she moved to Lake Ozark, Missouri near her daughter, then in 1996 she moved to the Terrace Apartments in Columbia, Missouri before returning to Moberly in 2007 to Mark Twain Assisted Living and to be near her son.

    Mildred was an active and busy person all her life, she loved her family dearly and they were the focus of her life. She will be deeply missed by them. She also loved her music, her piano, her stringed instruments and she had a lovely voice. Mildred loved singing at her church and she enjoyed getting together with her family and playing music.

    Mildred is survived by her daughter, Lois Lucille and her husband Ted Butler of  Lake Ozark, Missouri; two sons, John E. and his wife Evelyn Beck of Blue Springs, Missouri and Harold D. and his wife Rebecca Beck of Huntsville, Missouri; a brother, Jack Lacy of Columbia, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Lacy of Summerville, South Carolina; five grandchildren, Bradley and his wife Toni Butler, Brent Butler, Amy and her husband Scott Palmer, Angela and her husband Eugene Phiffer, and Brandon and his wife Holly Beck; three step grandchildren, Cheryl Lickey, Angela Sitzman and Jeff and his wife Jamie Williams; ten great  grandchildren, nine step great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, four step great great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

    Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Gladys Lacy; husband, John Beck; three brothers, Robert , Paul and Louis Lacy and a sister,  Mary Catherine Tipton.

    Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.

    Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday with the family receiving friends until service time at the funeral home.

    Burial will be in the Mt. Salem Cemetery, southeast of Novelty, Missouri.

    Pastor John Bode will officiate and music will be provided, “In the Garden” and Amazing Grace”. Casket Bearers will be her grandsons, Bradley Butler, Brent Butler, Brandon Beck, Randy Howell, Scott Palmer and Eugene Phiffer.
