    Leslie Melvord Sears, 82, of Moberly, Missouri passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2012, at his residence in Huntsville, Missouri.

    Leslie was born on February 3, 1929 in rural Chariton County, Missouri, the son of Sylvan J. and Letha Marguerite Meyers Sears.

    After graduation, Leslie served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked more than 38 years as a butcher for Thriftway Stores before his retirement.

    On June 16, 1952 Leslie married Shirley Jean Morris and to this union four children were born.

    Survived by his wife, Shirley Jean Sears of Moberly, Missouri; three sons, Gary and his wife Shelia Sears of Huntsville, Missouri, David Sears of Huntsville, Missouri, and Terry and his wife Sherry Sears of Huntsville, Missouri; one brother, Kenneth and his wife Shirley Sears of Huntsville, Missouri; two sisters, Eva Folkes of Moberly,  Missouri and Janice and her husband Vernon Cruse of Moberly, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Kelli Sears of Huntsville, Missouri, Jason and his wife Keri Sears of Huntsville, Missouri, LaDonna and her husband Nick Thomas of Birmingham, England, Jonathan Sears of Edina, Missouri, Katie Sears of Moberly,  Missouri, Taylor Sears of Paris, Missouri, Michael and his wife Merilea Sears of Moberly, Missouri, and Michelle and her husband Brad Ross of Moberly, Missouri; twelve great grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Mary Sears in infancy; a sister, Donna Knox; two brothers, J.D. Sears in infancy and Bob Sears.

    Graveside services will be Monday, February 6, 2012, at 11:30 a.m. at the Oakland Cemetery in Moberly, Missouri.

    Visitation will be Monday, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the Million-Taylor Funeral Home in Moberly, Missouri.
