    Emma Lucille Overstreet Keiser, 89, of Palmyra, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2012, at the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra, Missouri.

    Lucille was born on September 20, 1922, in Novelty, Missouri, the daughter of Edgar and Mary Leckbee McCarty.

    She was raised in the Novelty Community and attended the Novelty Grade School before graduating from the Novelty High School in the Class of 1940.

    On January 13, 1940, in Shelbina, Missouri, Lucille married Donald Herbert Overstreet and they moved to a farm west of Lewistown, Missouri to make their home and raised three children. On October 15, 1980 Donald passed away.

    On June 15, 1987, in St. Louis, Missouri, Lucille married Merlin “Bill” Keiser, whom she met at the bowling alley, and they moved to Palmyra, Missouri. Bill preceded her in death on July 27, 1997 and she continued to make Palmyra her home.

    While in Lewistown, Missouri, Lucille worked at the Prairie View Nursing Home and Stone Haven Nursing Home. She enjoyed bowling.

    Lucille is survived by her daughter, Martha Kay and her husband Mike Miller of Edina, Missouri; a sister, Doris Nicholas of Chicago, Illinois; eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Mary McCarty; husbands, Donald Herbert Overstreet and Bill Keiser; two sons, Donald Wayne Overstreet and Charles Herbert Overstreet; a brother, Charles McCarty; a sister, Nellie Vance; and a grandson Kevin Miller.

    Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 9, 2012 at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.

    Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Monday, with the family receiving friends till service time at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.

    Burial will be in the Newark Cemetery in Newark, Missouri.

    Reverend Mike Wilson will officiate and Casket Bearers will be Dag Overstreet, Nick Miller, Derek O’Brien, Alex Devlin, Mike Miller and Ronnie Myers.

    An expression of sympathy in memory of Lucille Keiser may be left to the Alzheimer’s Association. A memorial may be left to the Doss Funeral Home 208 N. 4th Street, Edina, Missouri 63537.
