Jennie Lee White

     Jennie Lee White, 90, of Edina, Missouri, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2012, at the Knox County Nursing Home in Edina, Missouri.

    She was born on October 12, 1921, in Quincy, Illinois, the only child of Wilbur C. and Leota Jenkins Parrish.

    Jennie was raised in the Colony Community and attended the Fairmont Rural School and graduated from the Knox City High School.

    On April 26, 1941, in Edina, Missouri, Jennie married Hugh Rodman White. They lived in Knox City, Brashear, and Gibbs, before returning to Knox City and took over the family farm south of town in 1958. They raised their family and in 1971, they moved to Canton, Missouri.

    After their marriage, Jennie worked nearly 12 years in Quincy, Illinois, for Davis-Cleaver Company. Most of her life she was a farm wife and enjoyed gardening, yodeling, and in later years enjoyed the activities at the nursing home, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren.

        Jennie is survived by four sons, Robert Louis and his wife, Carol, of Edina, MO; Terry Lynn and his wife, Fran, of Ramona, CA; Neil Rodman and his wife, Debbie, of Covington, TN; and Curtis Douglas White of Monticello, MO; nine grandchildren, James White and  wife, April; Douglas White and wife, Christine; Angela Fitch and husband, Ryan; Vanessa White, Derek White, Danielle Rogers and husband, Robert; Chelsea White, Joshua White and Abbey White; nine great grandchildren, Travis Wood, Michael White, Margaret White, Cole Fitch, Sophia White, Elisa White, Ethan White, Sophia Rogers, and Keegan White; along with a host of friends.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Leota Parrish; husband, Hugh White; two sons, Billy James White in 1958, and Randall Lee White in 1987; and a daughter, Leota Mae White in 1954.

    Funeral Services will be Friday, May 25, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.

    Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Burial will be in the Knox City Cemetery in Knox City, Missouri.

    In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Knox City Cemetery or the Knox County Nursing Home.  A memorial may be left at or mailed to the Doss Funeral Home, 208 North 4th Street, Edina, MO 63537.
