    Imogene Gertrude Mann, 100, of Edina, Missouri formerly of Hedge City, Missouri, passed away Monday morning, November 7, 2011, at the Knox County Nursing Home in Edina, Missouri.

    Imogene was born on September 1, 1911, Denver, Colorado, the daughter of William and Nancy Bell Walton Leinweber.

    She attended San Jose Elementary and graduated from San Jose High School in the Class of 1929 .

    On August 19, 1929, in  rural Logan County, Illinois, at sunrise on the riverbank on horseback, Imogene married Nobel E. Mann.

    They moved from San Jose, Illinois to Hedge City, Missouri in March of 1951 to make their home.

    Imogene taught school, Home Economics, Sunday School, Adult Education Classes and was a substitute teacher. She also was active with 4-H, teaching First Aid and was a 4-H member and leader. She was involved with research for the University of Missouri and also Home Healthcare. In 1976 she became a caregiver for a number of years.

    Imogene is survived by four sons, Nobel William “Bill” and his wife Ruth Mann of Newark, Missouri, Theodore Eldon “Ted” and his wife Bonnie Mann of Edina, Missouri, Fredrick Lee “Fred” and his wife Mila Mann of Fallbrook, California, and Daniel Emerson “Dan” and his wife Florence Mann of Fayette, Missouri; a daughter, Gail and her husband Warren Forrest of Columbia, Missouri; twenty four grandchildren; fifty two great grandchildren; twenty one great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Nancy Leinweber; husband, Nobel E. Mann; brother, Emerson A. Leinweber; a grandchild; and two great great grandchildren.

    Funeral Services will be Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.

    Visitation will be after 12:00 noon on Thursday, November 10, 2011, with the family receiving friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

    Burial will be in the Newark Cemetery in Newark, Missouri.

    Pastor John Bode will officiate and Casket Bearers will be her grandchildren.
