    William J. “Bill” Stefl, 64, of rural Novelty, Missouri passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at his residence.

    Bill was born on April 7, 1946, in Valley Park, Missouri, the son of William and Margie Harrison Stefl.

    He was reared in Valley Park, Missouri and attended Valley Park Elementary and graduated from the Valley Park High School in the Class of 1964.

    Bill worked for more than thirty years as a truck driver for the Valley Materials Concrete. He was a member of the Teamsters Union until his retirement.  

    On July 17, 1976, in Clayton, Missouri, Bill married Paula J. Faulkner.

    Bill enjoyed working on the farm, that they purchased in 2003, visiting neighbors, hunting, fishing and playing poker at Hurdland, Edina, Knox City, and Kirksville, Missouri. Most of all, he enjoyed his family and loved spending time with his grandkids.

    Bill is  survived by his wife, Paula Stefl of rural Novelty, Missouri; two sons, Jim Henderson of St. Louis, Missouri and Bill Stefl, Jr. and his fiancé Dana McCabe of Edina, Missouri; a daughter, Christina and her husband Larry Thomas of Springfield, Missouri; two brothers, Don and his wife Gail Stefl of Ft. Myers, Florida and Gary and his wife Dena Adams of  Valley Park, Missouri; a step-sister, June Boatman of Southern, Missouri; seven granddaughters, Samantha, Mallory, Julia, Elizabeth, Sara, Kayleigh and Payten; a grandson, Austin; an a great grandson, Aiden; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

    Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Margie Stefl and a son, Brian.

    Funeral services will be Friday, January 21, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.

    Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2011, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.

    Burial will be in the Linville Cemetery in Edina, Missouri.

    Dr. David Doctorian will officiate and music will be provided by Martha Marie Huse and Marsha Pinson.  Casket Bearers will be Loran Jones, Tom Stingle, Jared Stingle, Gary Little, Jim Beaser and Kyler Beaser.

    An expression of sympathy in memory of Bill Stefl may be left to the St. Jude’s Hospital. A memorial may be left at or mailed to the Doss Funeral Home 208 n. 4th Street, Edina,  Missouri 63537.
