James Bruce "Blue" Koenig, 63, of Bethel, Missouri, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2010, at his residence in Bethel, Missouri.
Blue, as his friends knew him, was born on September 30, 1946 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the son of Bruce and Delana Carnahan Koenig. He was raised in the Lawrenceville community and worked most of his life as an electrician for Peabody Coal in Southern Illinois.
Blue moved to Bethel, Missouri, eleven years ago to be near his dear friends Lisa and Mike Crane and in the past year his health deteriorated and Hospice of Northeast Missouri was assisting with his care.
Blue was a member of the Tuscola Masonic Lodge #332 of Tuscola, Illinois. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed primitive camping and rendezvous.
Blue is survived by his children, Jody, Jamie, Joannie and Janna; and his dear friends, Mike and Lisa Crane.
At his request, Blue was cremated. Those wishing to leave a memorial may leave a donation to the Hospice of Northeast Missouri.
Doss Funeral Home 208 N. 4th Street, Edina, Missouri are in charge of arrangements.
