   Ronald William “Bill” Humpal, 76, of Edina, Missouri, passed away Friday, September 7, 2012, at his residence with family by his side.

    Bill was born on February 11, 1936, in Palo, Iowa, the son of Stanley and Agnes Shores Humpal.

    He attended rural school in Webster County, Iowa and served his country in the United States Marine Corp. Bill lived in Perry, Iowa and worked for more than 30 years for Oscar Mayer as a meat cutter.

    After retirement he moved his family to Arizona, where he worked with his brother in landscaping. Bill moved to Edina, Missouri in 2005 and built a home north of Edina, Missouri.

    On December 12, 1962, in Blue Earth, Minnesota, he married Janis Marie Small, and they would have celebrated fifty years together later this year.

    Bill enjoyed helping family by being an all around handyman with any project. He volunteered with the hospice house in Arizona. He enjoyed gardening and tending to his roses, he always made sure there was a fresh cut rose on the table for Jan.

    He is survived by his wife, Jan of Edina, Missouri; a daughter, Stacie and her husband Larry Kinman of Edina, Missouri; a son, Greg and his wife Annette Humpal of Appleton, Wisconsin; two brothers, Joe and his wife Jolene Humpal of Mesa, Arizona and Gary and his wife Bobbi Humpal of Fort Dodge, Iowa; three sisters, Donna and her husband Larry Jones of Atlantic, Iowa, Janet Harrington of Mesa, Arizona and Linda Fetters of Fort Dodge, Iowa; four grandchildren, David and Tarah Fagin, Taylor Kinman and his significant other Nicole, Ashley and Chris Donahoo and Naomi Humpal; four great grandchildren, Emma and Gracie Fagin and Chloe and Bentley Donahoo; along with a host of extended family and friends.

    Bill was preceded in death by a son, Mitch; a daughter Candi; a granddaughter, Halley Fagin; two brothers and three sisters.

    Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.

    Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 10, 2012, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Pastor Sam Smith will officiate the service and Honorary Bearers will be Larry Kinman, Taylor Kinman, David Fagin, Brent Lingren, Larry Small and Joe Humpal.
