Anthony Zimmerman


    Anthony Huber Zimmerman, 4 years, of rural Rutledge, Missouri, passed away Monday, February 25, 2013, at his parents home.

    The infant son of Abraham and Martha Huber Zimmerman, was born on October 27, 2008, near Rutledge, Missouri.

    Anthony was afflicted with spinal muscular atrophy since birth. Even though he was very limited in what he could do, that which he could do he did heartily. He loved singing, books, and farm machinery and of course people.

    Anthony is survived by his parents, Abe and Martha Zimmerman of Rutledge, Missouri; two brothers of the home, Jacob and Nathaniel Zimmerman; five sisters, Leah Fern, Marietta, Bertha, Miriam and Rose Marie; maternal grandparents, John and Mary Huber; paternal grandparents, Levi and Leah Zimmerman; aunts and uncles, Lorraine Martin of Waterloo, New York, Ruth and Mervin Hoover of Rutledge, Mo, Earl and Edith Huber of Knox City, Mo, Esther Mae and Edwin Ramer of Gorin, Mo, Kathryn and Glen Zimmerman and Susan and Jerry High all of Arbela, Mo, Edna and Lloyd Ramer of Rutledge, Mo, Grace and Clifford Martin of Edina, Mo, Nancy, Elizabeth, Marian and Mary Ellen Huber, Elva and James Hoover all of Knox City, Mo, Mary and Craig Honigman of Denver, Pa, Lucy and Mark Eby of New Holland, Pa, Joseph and Brenda Zimmerman of Mt, Joy, Pa, Phillip Zimmerman of Vogansville, Pa, David and Ella Mae Zimmerman of Reinhold Pa, Ada Zimmerman of Rutledge, Mo. and Martha and Lavon High of Cantril, Ia; along with numerous cousins.

    He was preceded in death by a sister, Karla, who had the same disease Anthony did; a maternal grandmother, Edna Huber; and an uncle, Walter Martin.

    Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013, at the Millport Mennonite Church south of Rutledge, Missouri.

    Visitation will be Saturday, March 2, 2013, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the home of Abraham and Martha Zimmerman, southeast of Rutledge, Missouri.

     Abner Oberholtzer, Carl Hoover, Earl Oberholtzer, and Merle Oberholtzer will officiate. Casket Bearers will be Earl Huber, Mervin Hoover, Joseph Zimmerman, and David Zimmerman.

    The family ask for no flowers only your thoughts and prayers.
