    Imogene Elizabeth Homrighausen, 76, of Steffenville, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at the Country Aire Retirement Estates in Lewistown, Missouri.

    Imogene was born on April 26, 1932, in Kirksville, Missouri, the daughter of Frank and Rose Miller Hettinger.

    She was raised in the Knox City, Missouri community and attended Rural School before graduating, valedictorian, from the Knox City High School in the Class of 1949, where she was very active in band and softball.

    On July 30, 1950, in Knox City, Missouri, Imogene married William "Junior" Homrighausen, at which time they moved to Lewis County to farm and raise their family.

    She was very active in the Steffenville Christian Church, serving as Sunday School Teacher for many years. Imogene was also a member of the LaBelle American Legion Auxiliary, a 4-H Leader, the Farmerettes Club and served in the Foster Grandparent Program with the Lewis County Schools.

    Imogene enjoyed gardening, sewing and reading but cherished the time spent with family and grandchildren.

    She is survived by a son, Douglas and his wife Juna Homrighausen of Steffenville, Missouri; two daughters, Dianne and her husband Mark Miller of Quincy, Illinois and Sara and her husband Jeff Barnard of Kansas City, Missouri; a sister, Minnie McKay of Knox City, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Hettinger of LaBelle, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Kurt and his wife Kathy Homrighausen and her nephew Morgan LeBlanc, Kent Homrighausen, Tami, Mindy, and Keri Miller, Kate, Elissa and Natalie Barnard; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

    Imogene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Junior on September 18, 1981; four brothers, Elton and his wife Madeline Hettinger, Ronald Hettinger, Miller and his wife Katherine Hettinger, and John and his wife Dorothy Hettinger; a brother-in-law, James Baker McKay; and two grandchildren, William Homrighausen and David Miller.

    Funeral services will be Saturday, May 10, 2008, at 3:00 p.m. at the Steffenville Christian Church in Steffenville, Missouri.

    Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2008, with the family receiving friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.

     Burial will be in the Steffenville Cemetery in Steffenville, Missouri.

     Reverend Jerry Kaser will officiate and music will be provided  by Evelyn Scifres on piano. Casket Bearers will be Tracy Hettinger, Jim Ben McKay, Kent Homrighausen, Keith Whitlatch, Kent Whitlatch and Jeff Barnard.

    An expression of sympathy may be left to the Shiloh Christian Children's Ranch or the Show Me Christian Youth Home. A memorial may be left at or mailed to the Doss Funeral Home 208 N. 4th Street, Edina, Missouri 63537.
